CNC Support Technician is responsible for supporting Manufacturing with the set-up, operation, and programming of CNC machines according to blueprints, specifications, manufacturing orders, and work instructions. This job requires continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety procedures on a yearly basis.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Supports Manufacturing with the set-up, operation, and programming of CNC machines according to blueprints, specifications, manufacturing orders, and work instructions.
  • Troubleshooting of programs, setup issues, and quality issues.
  • Verifies CNC programs for completeness and accuracy. Revises programs as required for improved efficiency and/or quality.
  • Supports CNC programmers, supervisors, manufacturing engineers and planners with work organization to implement continuous improvement and reduce down-time.
  • Supports the preparations of projects program, layout, tooling, inspection gauges and material.
  • Supports CNC programmers and manufacturing engineers with training efforts including training plans, SOP’s, and process control plans for manufacturing.
  • Trains machine operators as needed.
  • Recognizes improper machine functioning and makes required adjustments. Initiate and report repairs and modify programs for CNC machines as needed.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload. Individual must be able to proficiently demonstrate the ability to measure and work to close tolerances.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, the use of shop tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work under general supervision with a wide-degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Reports any safety violation, machining equipment misusage and/or improperly performed work to supervisor.
  • Performs a variety of other tasks and duties.


Working Conditions:


Work in manufacturing /machining area settings and exposed to oil, coolant and metal residues. Job requires standing or sitting for extended periods of time working with computers and machines. Require minimal supervision.


Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of CNC programming, machinery and operating procedures, required.
  • Proficient in blueprint interpretation
  • A minimum of two (2+) years of combined technical education and experience.
