Position Objective:

 

 

 

The Sales & Application Engineer will serve as a liaison between the customer, the Direct Sales Force, and all operating departments within WEG Electric Corp and/or other WEG operation facilities around the globe. This person works in close conjunction with our Outside Sales Representatives to assist in servicing existing accounts as well as procuring new business opportunities and might engage in visits to customers (some travel to be expected). This person is responsible for coordinating factory support for all existing and prospective accounts to which he/she is assigned. Frequent communications with the assigned customer base is expected to ensure that customer requirements, expectations and satisfaction are met.

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

 

 

  • Assist and support Outside Sales force in managing their territories/accounts. This to include providing technical support, providing information on motor scheduling and availability, processing customer change requests, addressing customer complaints.
  • Create and maintain Customer Price Files. Ensure accuracy of model numbers, usage history, current standard costs, Price History, and current Margin %. Initiate any price adjustments with effective dates in the JDE operating system.
  • Interface with the technical and commercial teams in the USA, Brazil and Mexico, using their specific software/systems for it.
  • Generate quotes for custom motors for existing and potential new customers. Tasks include identifying reference model, projecting suitable motor components, building estimated motor costing, pricing, and margin scenario.
  • Initiating new model sample process for existing and potential new customers. Tasks include verifying motor specs, implementing cross-departmental sample review meeting, monitoring motor throughout the build cycle, maintaining communication with customer on motor status and delivery estimates.
  • Participates in the Return Merchandise Authorization processes (RMA) and customer Warranty Claims. Evaluates Engineering/Manufacturing analysis and determines product disposition. Authorizes credits to be processed to customer accounts, if applicable.
  • Manage and Oversee CMI (Customer Managed Inventory) program for assigned accounts. Includes maintaining agreements as current, reviewing replenishment levels, monitoring inventory age and turns, and model rationalization.
  • Establish and maintain market analysis to understand marketplace economic conditions. Analysis to include competitive landscape, application knowledge, market level pricing constraints, design and technological trends, etc.

 

 

 

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

 

  • College diploma preferred - BS in Electrical Engineering ideal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical proficiencies and computer competence are required, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Understanding of basic motor principles and a technical aptitude is preferred.
  • Capability to work cross-departmentally and in collaboration with a diverse set of individuals.
  • Ability to deal with customer needs and issues in a periodically stressful environment while maintaining a level of composure and professionalism.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively handle and manage multiple tasks, customer accounts and Outside Sales Representatives
