Position Objective:


The Inside Sales Representative will serve as the primary liaison between the customer and all operating departments within WEG Commercial Motors. Works in close conjunction with our Outside Sales Representatives and has frequent communications with assigned customer base to ensure customer requirements, expectations and satisfaction is met. The Inside Sales Rep will assist with adherence to the shipment terms of the Customer Managed Inventory (CMI) agreement, as well as engage in processes related to warranty claims and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).



Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Processes and expedites customer orders in a timely manner. Processing will include receipt of the order by phone, email, facsimile or customer's portal; verifying motors/parts; transferring orders to scheduling; providing delivery dates and advising customer of stock-out conditions.
  • Reviews open customer order reports and takes action on those items that may be at risk in meeting a customer’s promised delivery date. Maintains customer open order and backlog reports.
  • Provides our customers with superior service ensuring their requirements are met in regards to order fulfillment, on-time delivery, responsiveness to phone/email inquires and positive follow up on all open issues.
  • Maintains an appropriate level of technical and industry knowledge of Bluffton Motor Works’ products, manufacturing processes and operational procedures to ensure professional communications with customers and the market place in general.
  • Recommends continuous improvement projects to streamline our systems and processing procedures.
  • Opens and establishes new customer accounts and assists with obtaining a customer internal contact listing, billing and credit information to provide to finance.
  • Assists our Outside Sales Representatives to ensure the customer’s requirements are being fulfilled as pertains to timely executing, tracking and closing return material authorizations (RMA’s), warranty claims and customer credit transactions.
  • Handles customer issues such as complaints, literature requests, shipment delivery tracking and claim/dispute resolution.
  • Closely monitors and drives customer samples and initial pilot orders throughout each department and production process to meet requested customer delivery dates.



Experience and Skills:



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with customer needs and issues in a periodically stressful environment while maintaining a level of composure and professionalism
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively handle and manage multiple tasks, customer accounts and Outside Sales Representatives
  • Computer and mathematical skills required with ability to learn new systems such as JD Edwards.
  • Understanding of basic motor principles is preferred
  • College diploma preferred with previous experience in customer service/inside sales field
