Job Description:

WEG Commercial Motors is part of WEG SA, a leader in the worldwide production of electric motors. WEG supplies product into a large variety of commercial applications. We are seeking an Industrial Engineer for our Bluffton, Indiana manufacturing facility. This role will manage projects that improve productivity, quality and/or cost using a combination of classical Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement tools. As part of the WEG team, you will interface with all levels and functions in our facility. You will be expected to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identify improvements in productivity, quality and cost to meet internal KPIs using time studies, flow analysis and continuous improvement tools.
  • Coordinate the development and execution of action plans for resource optimiziation and waste reduction for labor, machines, tools and materials
  • Analyze and propose internal process improvements verifying its feasibility and reporting the results
  • Coordinate new equipment investment activities including identification of equipment, justification of selected machinery, and presentation to management for approval
  • Interface with other units to standardize tooling and processes world wide
  • Coordinate process studies related to the launch of new product lines (develop and report about pilot batches)
  • Evaluate the proposed new tooling and materials for the manufacturing processes.
  • Follow up critical process capability analysis always aiming to implement and maintain good quality results.

Experience and Skills:

Skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 1 year related work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating and delivering presentations
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma and Process FMEA
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • Expertise in data and problem analysis, critical thinking and creative problem solving
