Department: Sales Department, Bluffton Motor Works

Reports to: V.P Of Sales

Bluffton Motor Works WEG Group (WBL) has a rich history in the design and manufacture of custom fractional horsepower electric motors.

WBL has an immediate career opportunity for a self-confident, extroverted salesperson who can enliven, engage, and positively impact individuals and groups. This position will be best suited for the salesperson that thrives when working on a variety of tasks and where the job environment is dynamic as this job requires pro-actively establishing relationships with new and potential customers. Finally, the successful candidate will have to be able to understand and react quickly to changes that can happen, while providing excellent service to customers and potential customers.

Primary Job Function:

Develop and maintain territory sales strategies to meet organizational objectives, and responsible for continued growth in the SE area of the United States to include Virginia, North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the growth and development of the West-Central U.S. Region for Bluffton Motor Works.
  • Responsible for territorial profitability
  • Demonstrates technical skills and product knowledge of all Bluffton Motor products to include all 36, 48, and 56 frame (AC/DC) motors, gear motors including all Hydro Duty, Hydro Wash categories
  • Work closely with inside sales support functions including marketing and engineering in the development of new business and motor designs.
  • Must utilize correct forms and processes established by your Vice President of Sales.
  • Must be detail orientated and have strong organizational skills.
  • Identify new market opportunities for current and future products by soliciting customer input and direction.
  • Maintain expense accounts to include well planned travel schedules and efficient use of company resources.
  • Attend all sales meetings and training development meetings.
  • This position will be expected to have overnight travel and potential travel into other territories when directed by the V.P. of Sales.
  • Responsible for all annual forecasting of territory and in conjunction with the V.P. of Sales, develop a territorial sales plan to achieve those goals.
  • Identify new market opportunities for current and future products by soliciting customer input and direction.
  • Drive product innovation across departmental teams by attaining market intelligence from customers, suppliers and competitors.
  • Analyzing potential partner relationships that may enhance WBL’s go to market strategy.

Experience and Skills:

Requirements:

  • BA degree with minimum 4 years of sales experience in industrial sales within the last 10 years. Work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining strategies to meet organizational objectives.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work with professional sales associates.

Preferred Experience:

  • Electric motor experience within the last 10 years
  • Power Transmission experience within the last 10 years
